Privacy policy

Last updated: March 2026

This policy explains what data webuydata.io collects from visitors to this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain language because that's how it should be.

This policy covers the webuydata.io landing site only. It does not cover the data-selling service itself — that will have a separate, detailed agreement when the platform launches.

What we collect

When you sign up for our waitlist, we collect:

  • Your email address — required so we can notify you when the platform launches.
  • Your first name — optional. If you provide it, we use it to personalise emails.
  • UTM parameters — these are tags in the URL that tell us how you found the site (e.g. from Reddit, an ad, or a direct link). They contain no personal information.
  • Page and timestamp — which page you signed up from and when.

We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects:

  • Pages visited, time on site, and general navigation patterns
  • Approximate geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Referral source (how you arrived at the site)

GA4 does not collect your name, email, or any information you type into our forms.

How we store it

Waitlist signups (name, email, UTM data) are stored in a private Google Sheet within a Google Workspace account. Access is limited to the webuydata.io team.

Analytics data is stored by Google as part of the GA4 service, subject to Google's privacy policy.

Why we collect it

We collect your email address for one reason: to let you know when the upload platform launches. We may also send occasional updates about the service. We will not sell your email address, share it with third parties, or use it for unrelated marketing.

We use analytics data to understand which pages people visit, where our traffic comes from, and whether the site is working properly. This helps us make the service better.

Cookies

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics 4. These cookies help GA4 distinguish between visitors and understand how you navigate the site. They do not contain personal information.

The cookies GA4 uses include:

  • _ga — distinguishes visitors. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_[ID] — maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.

You can block these cookies in your browser settings or use an ad blocker. The site will still work without them — you just won't be counted in our analytics.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion — email us and we'll remove your information from our waitlist within 48 hours.
  • Access your data — email us and we'll tell you what data we hold about you.
  • Opt out of analytics — install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or block cookies in your browser settings.

These rights apply regardless of where you live. We respect GDPR, CCPA, and similar data protection laws.
